1978 BMW 633 CSI with some very cool alpine elements
The BMW E24 is the first generation of BMW 6 Series range of grand tourer cars, which was produced from January 1976 to 1989 and replaced the BMW E9 coupés.
The E24 was produced solely in a 2-door coupés body style. All models used petrol straight-six engines, with the majority using a version of the BMW M30 engine family. The E24 is based on the E12 5 Series platform.


The E24 was designed by Paul Bracq. Unlike its E9 predecessor, the body of the E24 has a B pillar. The initial proposal for the E24 was based on a BMW E9 3.0 CS with an increased height, in order to make it easier for customers to get into the car. However, Bob Lutz rejected the proposal, eventually leading to the shape of the E24 in its production form.
Production started in January 1976 with the 630CS and 633CSi in February 1976. A total of 86,216 cars were built prior to production ending in April 1989.

De BMW E24 is de eerste generatie van de BMW 6 Serie Grand Tourer-auto's, die werd geproduceerd van januari 1976 tot 1989 en de BMW E9-coupés verving.De E24 werd enkel geproduceerd in een 2-deur coupes bodystijl.
Alle modellen gebruikten zescilinder-benzinemotoren, waarvan de meeste een versie van de BMW M30-motorenfamilie gebruikten. De E24 is gebaseerd op het E12 5-serie platform. De E24 is ontworpen door Paul Bracq.
In tegenstelling tot zijn E9 voorganger, de body van de E24 heeft een B-stijl. Het oorspronkelijke voorstel voor de E24 was gebaseerd op een BMW E9 3.0 CS verhoogd, om het voor klanten gemakkelijker te maken om in de auto te stappen. Bob Lutz wees het voorstel echter af, wat uiteindelijk leidde tot de vorm van de E24 in zijn productievorm.
De productie begon in januari 1976 met de 630CS en 633CSi in februari 1976. In totaal werden 86.216 auto's gebouwd voordat de productie in april 1989 eindigde.

Geleverd met een kaft vol facturen en geschiedenis is ze klaar om de volgende jaren van te genieten.
