Soms hebben we ze in huis… van die prachtige parels die in de geschiedenis van auto industrie voorkomen. Deze schitterende Chevrolet Bel Air uit 1960 is zo’n parel. Het gaat hier om de 4e generatie van dit model en deze is slechts 2 jaar geproduceerd. Het is hiermee een van de laatste modellen met de kenmerkende en stijlvolle vleugels aan de achterzijde. Deze stijlvolle amerikaanse klassieker is niet alleen schitterend om te zien, maar ook heerlijk om mee te rijden.

Deze Chevrolet Bel Air is geproduceerd in 1960 en in de jaren 90 door een firma uit Groningen naar Nederland gehaald. De auto is toen volledig gerestaureerd en hiervan zijn veel foto’s beschikbaar. Uit deze fotoreportage blijkt dat de auto voor de restauratie al in hele goede staat was. Daarom is er ook nooit aan de auto gelast en zelfs de bekleding is grotendeels origineel gehouden. De motor en de versnellingsbak zijn beiden volledig gereviseerd. In de jaren erna is de auto met zeer veel liefde en zorg onderhouden. Het resultaat is dat er nu een parel van een auto staat die we met gepaste trots aan kunnen bieden in onze collectie.

Wat moeten we zeggen over de conditie? De auto is in zeer goede (bijna perfecte) conditie. Het lakwerk is in prachtige staat en heeft nog een diepe glans. Ook de diverse chroom en sierdelen zijn in hele goede conditie. Dit geldt ook voor de diverse rubberdelen en afwerkingen. De carrosseriedelen sluiten heel goed op elkaar aan.
Het interieur ademt de luxe en comfort van de jaren 60. Zowel de voorbank als de achterbank zijn in perfecte conditie en ze zitten bijzonder comfortabel. De afwerking is nog bijzonder goed en ook het schitterende dashboard is nog in hele goede staat. De originele radio is nog aanwezig en ook de stijlvolle tellerunits zijn nog in prima conditie.

Als de motorkap opengaat, is er een keurig verzorgde motorruimte te zien. De 4,8 liter motor loopt bijzonder mooi en rustig en de automatische versnellingsbak schakelt soepel en goed. Het is duidelijk zichtbaar dat deze auto met zeer veel liefde en zorg is onderhouden. Ook de remmen voelen stevig en solide aan. Het rijden is een ware belevenis en in deze stijlvolle en schitterende Chevrolet Bel Air. Het feit dat het hier om een zeldzame 4e generatie gaat, maakt deze auto extra bijzonder.

This Chevrolet Bel Air was produced in 1960 and brought to the Netherlands in the 1990s by a company from Groningen. The car was then completely restored and many photos are available.
