Up 4 sale is my pride and joy, no expenses were saved during this built.
A summary of the specs can be found underneath.
The bus started out as a 1959 Crewcab and has been backdated with great features of the earlier models, like pressed bumpers and small tailights including the central brakelight.
A full bare metal restauration has been carefully executed over a period of 5 years, that included actually to much to list, but lets give it a try:
New safaris and popouts
New paddings, upholstery panels and headliner
New hoops and bows
New vw-logoed glass all around
New digital speedometer
New Loom
New Banjo steeringwheel
Powered by a solid 2.2 liter, type 4 in combination with 2 x 44 IDF carbs , gives a 115HP / 182Nm at the dyno (printout available).
Up right CSP conversion, the exhaust fumes are treated before release with a Pyton CSP massage.
To make sure the ride is comfortable and stops at a dime , we mounted a 4” lowered and narrowed frontaxle and a brakebooster combined with porsche 944 discbrakes.
Chromed Flat Four detailed Fuchs, deep six in the back 4.5” at the front
We chose for a IRS AT gearbox, with ratio 8:31 for a sweet ride at any moment, IRS bay-window conversion at the back , bolted on, the gearbox also has an xtra mounting point for xtra strength and balance.
Iam sure the list is not complete but it will give you a good idea what’s done to get this
working class hero at this level.
An option is to put it back with the original specs: gearbox/ rims/ engine/ front axle/ rear axle/ brakes
